This Sunday night, January 22, BuzzUniverse will be playing a special set at the Brooklyn Bowl (61 Wythe Avenue, Williamsburg) during halftime of the Giants/49ers NFC Championship game. Come watch the game and enjoy the Halftime Buzz.

On December 10th, BuzzUniverse will usher in the holiday season with their 4th annual Jingle Jam, returning home to the Donegal Saloon in Kearny, New Jersey, our longtime stomping grounds. BuzzUniverse's special guest for this year's Jingle Jam is MiZ featuring Northern Pennsylvania guitarist/singer-songwriter Mike Mizwinski. BuzzUniverse promises the same thrills and surprises that have become synonymous with the annual YuleTide event.

BuzzUniverse is kicking off the night with an acoustic set shortly after 8:00 PM.... MiZ is playing a long set around 9:00 PM (do not miss them)... then BuzzUniverse rocks electric until close. Strangers Helping Strangers is running a Food Drive, Please bring canned goods please. We'll also have Free Homemade Christmas Cookies!

To celebrate the September 20 release of Living Breathing Magic, our third studio album, we will be headlining The Canal Room, 285 Broadway in New York City on September 16. BuzzUniverse is proud to announce the addition of singer Rosie Lazroe and violinist Meredith Rachel as permanent members of the band.

Lazroe began making guest appearances with BuzzUniverse in the summer of 2009, her soulful voice blending seamlessly with the warm vocals of guitarist Alex Garay. As her role gradually evolved, Lazroe quickly became an integral part of the BuzzUniverse collective. Whether she’s offering complementary harmonies or captivating an audience with her remarkably powerful lead vocals, Lazroe’s appeal and charisma should have people talking for years to come.  Whether she’s modernizing the classically defined role of the violinist or perpetuating the grand Irish legacy of the fiddler,

Meredith Rachel refuses to be bound by traditional conceptions of the violin's place within rock and roll. Since her first appearance with the band at Washington Square Park in New York City, Rachel has become an inextricable member of BuzzUniverse. When not fighting City Hall for the rights of New York City's street musicians, Rachel’s violin serves as a vital part of the band’s distinctive sound.

Due to the weather, the BuzzUniverse free show this Thursday, June 9 in Sinatra Park in Hoboken, New Jersey had to be postponed. We should have the new date for you all shortly.

BuzzUniverse will be doting their attention on the East Coast in May. After a May 7 late-night slot at the Triumph Brewery in Philadelphia, PA, BuzzUniverse will help celebrate the grand re-opening of the Historic Blairstown Theater in Blairstown, NJ. Jersey's own is a natural fit for the May 21 Everything Jersey City Festival in (where else) Jersey City, NJ and May 29 will mark BuzzUniverse's return to the StrangeCreek Campout in Greenfield, MA. Hope to see you all at the shows.

BuzzUniverse will be making their return to the Midwest this weekend. On Thursday, April 14th, BuzzUniverse will appear in Cleveland, Ohio, playing an opening set for The Macpodz at the Beachland Ballroom, 15711 Waterloo Road. On April 15th, The Mousetrap Bar & Grill, 5565 North Keystone Avenue, Indianapolis, Indiana, will play host to a BuzzUniverse headlining set and on Saturday, April 16th, BuzzUniverse will headline Jackie O's, 24 West Union Street in Athens, Ohio.
 
This should be an amazing run of shows that you won't want to miss.

BuzzUniverse is excited to announce their Spring Schedule for 2011 which will see them headlining an April 2 benefit for the Medical Marijuana Caregivers of Maine (mmcm.org) at Woodford's Club in Portland Maine. We will kick off the season with an opening set for The Heavy Pets on March 2 at Maxwell's in Hoboken, New Jersey before a co-headlining bill with Afroskull on March 18 at the Bowery Poetry Club in New York City. In April, we'll return to the Midwest for Ohio dates in Cleveland and Athens as well as a swing through Indiana. The April 14 date in Cleveland will see BuzzUniverse opening for The Macpodz at the Beachland Ballroom.

BuzzUniverse's final show of 2010 will be a return trip to New York City for a Saturday night throwdown on December 11th at Pianos on Manhattan's lower east side. Natural Breakdown and The Thang will be joining us for the night. Pianos is located at 158 Ludlow Street, New York, NY.

The Donegal Saloon, BuzzUniverse's old homebase, will play host to this year's Jingle Jam. Our annual Christmas throwdown will usher in the holiday season on December 3rd, starting at 8:00 p.m. Scarecrow Collection and The Downtime Project (our own Rosie Lazroe and Chris Barile) will join us at our traditional Yuletide fest. The Donegal Saloon is located at 337 Kearny Avenue, Kearny, NJ (just outside of Manhattan).

2010 has been an incredible year so far in BuzzUniverse. The band is now holed up in the studio putting the final touches on the long-awaited new studio album. There are just a few special shows left in 2010 at some of our favorite old stomping grounds like Sullivan Hall, the Donegal Saloon, and the Brass Lantern. We are gearing up for a really big 2011 with the new CD and a full slate of live shows. Stay tuned!

Hi everyone, we had an amazing time on our Rocks Off Boat Cruise and we want to thank everyone for their support.  We have an amazing roster of festival appearances to round out 2010 and hope to see you at many of them.  Coming up is "Jammin for the Animals" in Reading PA, "The Big Up" in Ghent NY, "Catskill Chill" in Hancock NY, plus returns to the Wormtown Music festival in Massachussetts and our first trip to Maine.

Finally, we are proud to announce that on Friday, September 10th, BuzzUniverse will be performing at New York City's legendary Mercury Lounge for the first time, with Turbine!

Ladies and Gents, Our third annual Rocks Off Concert Cruise sets off this Friday, July 16th at 7:30 PM (Boarding at 6:30).  It is aboard the Half Moon Cruise Ship leaving from the East 23rd Street Marina.  This year, in lieu of an opening band, we got an amazing DJ to spin old school funk and soul for the first hour of the boat ride, to get everyone pumped. DJ Rockin Rodney Speed plays for the first hour then BuzzUniverse takes over for the last two hours. Tickets for the amazing boat ride are only $20 in advance ($25 at Gate) and are officially on sale now at www.rocksoff.com, where you can find all information. 

2010 has been incredible so far.  Our spring tour took us to the midwest for the first time, the back to New York City where the band opened for Grace Potter & the Nocturnals on Earth Day.  Then the summer kicked off with huge festivals and an opening slot for Galactic at the Brooklyn Bowl.

Our next big festival weekend is July 9-10, when we are very proud to be a part of the Black Potatoe Music Festival in Clinton NJ and the Great South Bay Music Festival in Patchogue (Long Island) NY.  Both events boast stellar eclectic lineups, and we hope to see you at each of these!
