Great Festivals Still to Come, plus next NYC Show announced - Mercury Lounge!
Hi everyone, we had an amazing time on our Rocks Off Boat Cruise and we want to thank everyone for their support. We have an amazing roster of festival appearances to round out 2010 and hope to see you at many of them. Coming up is "Jammin for the Animals" in Reading PA, "The Big Up" in Ghent NY, "Catskill Chill" in Hancock NY, plus returns to the Wormtown Music festival in Massachussetts and our first trip to Maine. Finally, we are proud to announce that on Friday, September 10th, BuzzUniverse will be performing at New York City's legendary Mercury Lounge for the first time, with Turbine!

New York City Concert Cruise This Friday - Tickets Still Available!
Ladies and Gents, Our third annual Rocks Off Concert Cruise sets off this Friday, July 16th at 7:30 PM (Boarding at 6:30). It is aboard the Half Moon Cruise Ship leaving from the East 23rd Street Marina. This year, in lieu of an opening band, we got an amazing DJ to spin old school funk and soul for the first hour of the boat ride, to get everyone pumped. DJ Rockin Rodney Speed plays for the first hour then BuzzUniverse takes over for the last two hours. Tickets for the amazing boat ride are only $20 in advance ($25 at Gate) and are officially on sale now at www.rocksoff.com, where you can find all information.

Next Big Festival Weekend July 9-10!
2010 has been incredible so far. Our spring tour took us to the midwest for the first time, the back to New York City where the band opened for Grace Potter & the Nocturnals on Earth Day. Then the summer kicked off with huge festivals and an opening slot for Galactic at the Brooklyn Bowl. Our next big festival weekend is July 9-10, when we are very proud to be a part of the Black Potatoe Music Festival in Clinton NJ and the Great South Bay Music Festival in Patchogue (Long Island) NY. Both events boast stellar eclectic lineups, and we hope to see you at each of these!

BuzzUniverse added to Crawfish Fest - Plus opening for Galactic in Brooklyn!
BuzzUniverse will be performing at Michael Arnone's Crawfish Festival in Augusta NJ on Saturday June 5th from 3:30-5:00 PM. BuzzU is a last minute fillin for New Orleans blues treasure Mem Shannon, who is sadly in the hospital. BuzzU goes on right after the Stanton Moore Trio featuring Anders Osborne on the Jager Stage. Then later that evening, at 9 PM Sharp, BuzzU is opening for New Orleans Galactic at the Brooklyn Bowl. This is going to be a fantastic amazing day of music for the band and we hope to see you at one of these events!!

BuzzUniverse is very proud to announce that they will be opening for New Orleans' legendary Galactic at the Brooklyn Bowl in Williamsburg Brooklyn NY, on Saturday June 5th. Willie Nelson Tribute in NYC Friday - RI show postponed
Willie Nelson turns 76 years old on Friday April 30th, and some of the northeast's greatest bands are getting together to celebrate his birthday in New York City. Each band is playing a few Willie Nelson songs plus their originals. BuzzUniverse's set is at 10:00 PM and will perform for about 75 minutes or so. Tim Herron Corporation is on at 8:00 PM and Leroy Justice around 11:30. Sadly our show in Rhode Island this Saturday has been postponed due to a venue situation beyond our control. Stay tuned for a makeup date soon!

Celebrating Earth Day in NYC with Grace Potter & the Nocturnals!
BuzzUniverse is very proud to announce that they will be opening for Grace Potter and the Nocturnals as part of the 2010 Earth Day NY Earth Fair, outside of Grand Central Terminal in New York City on Friday, April 23rd. The show is from 5:00 to 7:00 PM with BuzzUniverse performing for 45 minutes at 5:00 PM. Big Midwest Run this Weekend!
Hey everyone, BuzzUniverse is doing their very first midwest run this weekend! We are very proud to be teaming up with a couple of fantastic regional bands for shows in Cleveland OH, Indianapolis IN, and Kalamazoo MI. In Kalamazoo, BuzzU is opening for the Macpodz for what will surely be an amazing home-state show! BuzzUniverse to play two full shows at "The Big Up"!
BuzzUniverse is very proud to be invited back to Sunnyview Farm in Ghent, NY for the second annual Big Up Festival (formerly "Let it Roll") from June 17-19. If anyone was there last year, they knew it was the inaugural year for something very very special, and this year BuzzUniverse is playing on Friday Night and Saturday afternoon. Yes -- two full shows. Also on the bill are Raq, The Marco Benevento Trio, Telepath, The Macpodz, The Indobox, The Jack, Timbre Coup and many, many more great eclectic bands. Spring Tour Announced!
Thanks to everyone who came to the Brooklyn Bowl to raise money for Haiti. In the past few weeks, the Brooklyn Bowl has raised over $20,000 for relief efforts, major props to the BB on their efforts! We are excited to finally announce our spring tour dates! BuzzUniverse is heading to the midwest for the very first time to play great venues in Cleveland OH, Indianapolis IN and Kalamazoo MI. In addition, BuzzUniverse makes their debut at the Rock the Resort festival in Kerhonkson NY with KRS-1 and others, debuts at the Wheelhouse in Narragansett RI, and caps things off with two full shows at the incredible Sterling Stage Folk Festival on Memorial Day weekend. Things kick off back home in Asbury Park on April 8th for our only New Jersey show See you in a few months!

Updated Times for NYC-Freaks Birthday Bash at Brooklyn Bowl!
We are very busy in the studio finishing off our brand new studio album right now. But, on Thursday, January 21st, we are playing our only winter show. BuzzUniverse is proud to be a part of the NYC-Freaks 10th Birthday celebration at the Brooklyn Bowl. ?uestLove, drummer for the Roots, is doing a DJ set at 9:30 PM, and BuzzUniverse warms up at 8:30 PM (**NOTE NEW TIME**). But get there early, because two other Freaky Bands are performing starting at 7:00 PM, including a reunion of our old friends, Secret Government. Late Spring Tour announcement soon!

Thanks for an amazing year, what's on tap for 2010?
We wrapped up 2009 with a benefit show for the Hoboken Homeless Shelter this past saturday night. Holiday Jam for Hunger was a success, raising several hundred dollars to feed and shelter the area's homeless this winter. Thanks to everyone who came and contributed and the other great bands who performed. BuzzUniverse has only one announced date right now, January 21st at the Brooklyn Bowl. We are spending our winter in the recording studio finishing our new studio album, and planning a grand return in the late spring with our first midwest tour and several great east coast events. Stay tuned and Happy New Year!

Acoustic Show Thursday with Erin McKeown & Jill Sobule - Jingle Jam Next Week!
Two world-renowned singers/songwriters are on tour together and playing a show at the Saint in Asbury Park NJ this Thursday, 12/3. When their show wraps up at 10:30 PM, BuzzUniverse is taking the stage for a very special acoustic set to wrap up our "First Thursday" residency we're holding at the Saint. Its been a great four months doing this and we're proud to end it on such a high note. Don't forget, Jingle Jam 2009 is Friday December 11th, with Jason Crosby, Licorice Acoustic, the MixxTape, Suprise Guests, Free Cookie, Live Painting and MORE. Going to be AMAZING!

Digging Deep in Asbury Park & Upstate NY Shows Coming Up!
This Thursday is month three of our four-month residency at the Saint in Asbury Park NJ. For our headlining set we plan to perform for at least 75 minutes and are going to be digging deep into the BuzzUniverse archive of material which has not been performed in a long time, including one particularly special song which hasn't seen the stage in four years.... we promised that these residency shows would be special and this month's will not disappoint. This Friday, November 6th, we return to the Oasis Cafe in New Paltz NY. Then next Friday, November 13th, we are at the General Clinton Pub in Oneonta NY, and Saturday, November 14th we are at Castaways in Ithaca NY. These are all great rooms, but all hold alot of people. If you're willing to help spread the word about any of these shows, please get in touch and we'll put you on our guest list.

NYC Jingle Jam 2009 Lineup Announced - Archive.org Shows Coming Down
Hey Everyone, we are proud to announce most of the lineup for our big holiday party in New York City. The show is Friday, December 11th at the Ace of Clubs, and our good friends Licorice are kicking things off with a very special all-acoustic set at 7:30 PM. At 8:30 PM there is a pending announcement, then at 10:00 PM, BuzzUniverse plays one very long set with special guests sitting in and other surprises!! We'll be followed by the Tim Nayfiled MixxTape who are bringing the house down with a latenight set. Will be an amazing night, and advance tickets will be available soon! Also, As of Saturday, November 8th, Buzzniverse full performances will no longer be available for open download on www.archive.org. We still have an open taping policy, and fans who wish to tape may tape, and copy performances for friends and other fans. And Fans who would like a recording of a specific performance can always get in touch with the band about this, as we tape most shows ourselves. Thanks so much for your support and understanding. We will continue to post many live MP3s on our web sites. |
