from Alex
Hey Folks, just wanted to update you all
on our recording venture
.the band is quite proud to finally
be recording our next disc in our very own studio environment (TheSoundShack
). This is the place where we fine tune all rehearsals and work
out new material/ideas before we debut them. We decided to stick
with our roots so we could have full access to all of our equipment
and also be able to absorb the vibes and relax in our very own space.
It definitely feels like home
Over the years, this studio
has been a great sanctuary and has been such an inspiring place
for us to make music.
Most Props and positive vibes go to our very
own recording engineer/guru THE JERRY
FARLEY. He comes to us highly experienced with
his great resourceful knowledge in the recording industry...He also
comes highly recommended by our original engineer DAN
KORNEFF who recorded our 1st disc Abstract
Citizens..
Dan and THE Jerry are 2 of the most incredible
guys who have a very sharp knowledge of the recording process
Their
experiences working in and out of major labels studios, Indie studios,
Mobile setups, editing, production, platinum credits, etc etc, just
demonstrates their loyalty to their craft. These guys are the real
deal and we are extremely lucky to be able to have a great working
relationship with them. The Jerry has officially become one of our
very own BZQ family members. Hes found a new home and welcomed
with the most positive vibes. We look forward in making a great
record for all of YOU to enjoy. Anyway, hope to see you at the shows!
Lots of good things to come
.

11/5/04 - A Message
from Alex:
Recently, Buzzuniverse has been in contact
with quite a unique individual by the name of Al Aronowitz (Author,Journalist, visionary, friend).
In the heyday of the the 1960's,Mr Aronowitz was very well known
for his POP SCENE music columns for the NEW YORK POST and his social
endevours with many wonderful icons of that era. Aronowitz shared
interviews and personal quality time with these legends (from Jerry
Garcia to Sly Stone to The Band to Marilyn Monroe to Bobby Darin
to Miles Davis,Rolling Stones, the Beat Genertion Poets Allen Ginsberg,Jack
Kerouac etc etc) endless names of celebrity status, ...His columns
were the most informative of POP culture and his writings were enjoyed
by everyone..People on the subways, streets, newstands read and enjoyed
his columns with anticipation.... Most importantly,he is the man
considered responsible for introducing BOB DYLAN to the BEATLES
at the Delmonico Hotel in NYC in the early sixties. It was also
the first time the BEATLES had their 1st encounter with marijuana.
Aronowitz was hanging around and living with Dylan at the time and
finally had this opportunity to introduce these 2 legendary acts,as
well as experience the discussion that Dylan shared with John Lennon
about having a "smoke" to alter your conciousness during
the songwriting process.....After that encounter, we all know what
happened when the generation shifted and music took on an entire
historical change of direction..Also a huge part of his Beatles
story is his true personal friendship that he shared with George
Harrison........Currently,Aronowitz has published his encounters
in 2 books he is out to release..the books titled "BOB DYLAN
and THE BEATLES" and the 2nd book is "BOBBY DARIN was
a friend of mine"....These are 2 wonderful books about his
personal time spent with these legendary acts.
Buzzuniverse is currently working on having Al Aronowitz join us
at some of our upcoming shows for some "meet and greet"
book signings and readings.
We are honored to have Al Aronowitz out with us so he can bring
his stories and experiences to all music lovers and the public.
This is a wonderful opportunity for us to collaborate with this
legendary journalist/author. A great opportunity for our fans and
all curious music lovers to COME OUT to our upcoming gigs with Aronowitz
and ask questions, listen to some good music, enjoy a quality night
out....His books will also be available for purchase along with
our merchandise at some of the upcoming shows with our special guest.
Stay tuned for more upcoming events with the band, more shows, more
music, more love......join us for some interesting journeys----BZQ

2/9/04 - A Message from Alex
Hello Everybody, Hope the start of the New
year 2004 has been a POSITIVE for everyone and those new years resolutions
are still in effect, it ain't easy but atleast your trying to keep
it together. I just wanted to take the time to make everyone aware
and share some insight on YOUR local,LIVE original music scene.
Do you realize the incredible talent in your local music scene in
NJ? So many wonderful songwriters,bands,poets,actors,entertainers
that are out there EVERY night of the week (not just saturday nights)
trying as best they can to display their special talents in so many
venues thru out the tri-state. Did you know that New Jersey has
some of the most gifted artists in the country/world? Some of the
most unique people live right in your very own neighborhoods. Did
you especially know that alot of these artists and venues are struggling
to keep the performing arts alive and kicking thru-out the state.
We all know that the daily work week can
sure bring on the madness of routine and you find yourself repeating
the daily, same ole functions day after day.Sometimes you have to
say to yourself " I need a break and I want to try something
completely different! " Well here's something you can do. Remember
all those mailing lists you signed when you did get to a show. Well
those artist sure haven't forgotten about you.....your still getting
those reminders to come out and SUPPORT your original performing
arts...please take the time to read the advertisements, flyers, emails, posters
etc.. Also keep in mind that alot of bands and musicians spend their
own pocket funds in making FREE cd's,stickers,giveaways,t-shirts,
etc just so you can take home with you and share with your friends.
If you can't make it to a gig, tell your friends who may be looking
for something to do. Spread the word!! Please show your support
and help develop your local music scene. Be a part of it! Show your
love for the arts. Alot of venues are struggling to keep the music
scene alive and inspiring. The lack of audience participation is
proving to be so discouraging to many struggling artists in your
communities. Many venues are even closing their doors permanently
because people aren't showing their smiling faces and support. Please
don't let this happen. The original music scene needs your SUPPORT
and recognition. Don't let yourself get caught up in a world without
art, especially in your communities. Explore the other creative
options in your life. Be a part of it all... It makes your communities
a better place to live. Show your Love for your music scene, show
your love for your struggling artists, show your love for the venues...
and most of all encourage yourself and your neighbors for representing
and being a part of developing performing arts throughout your communities.
We love you all and thanks for your time.
SUPPORT ORIGINAL LIVE MUSIC...come on out
to a show!! you'll love it!

8/30/03 - A Cosmic Event in Westchester
Universe's collide - Not previously to the
knowledge of either band, Saturday's performance at the Bayou
Restaurant in Mount Vernon, NY, was a double bill of Buzz Universe
and Universe. Universe is a completely different band from the Bronx
area who blew the roof off the Bayou, before we brought the Buzz.
This was not intentional via the promoters, bands or booking agents,
but more of a cosmic event!
